Rome Fiumicino and Milan Malpensa are the principal long-haul gateways. Rome Ciampino, Milan Bergamo and Linate serve different low-cost, regional or city-oriented markets. Venice, Bologna, Naples, Pisa, Florence, Bari, Palermo and Catania can be more efficient for focused itineraries.
